Using Arbitrary Waveform Generators in Phased Array Radar Systems

Phased array radar systems have become more popular in recent years thanks to their ability to alter the direction of a radar signal using multiple transmitters rather than physically moving an antenna.

Generating these signals is one of the most challenging tasks for a signal generator. Tektronix has put together a specific waveform creation plugin for current Arbitrary Waveform Generators that enables engineers to create RF environments for many applications that involve multiple emitters like phased array radar and other multi-emitter environments.

This webinar will explore how a commercial Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) can be used to easily create radar signals and emulate multi-emitter environments.

  • Learn the advantages of using COTS AWGs for radar development and testing.
  • Learn how to create multiple scenarios and assign to different AWG channels. Users can create up to 50 scenarios.
  • See how you can recreate environments with up to 100 unique RF emitters.
